Systemic - Changing Economics

For me there is no change until there is systemic change.  As long as we have the corporate, fiat/fractional reserve monetary system we will only chase the horrible crashes (eco, economic, social) that are inevitable when everyone has a car (uses that systems).  Our current economic ideological economic appartuses, which are predicated on exploitation, competition and greed will never imbue direct democracy, social justice and sustainability.

During these real and social storms which we now find so heavily upon us (New Orleans, Middle East) we need to get all operants hands on the tiller that we might steer this ship clear of hell.  I can only see that happening in widespread ways when we have day to day practices of participatory processes that include distributed responsibility, 'ownership', and descion making.

That's what we work for at http://vanparecon.resist.ca and as an aside through www.cooperativeway.org.  We are working on more projects including a online market place for co-ops and collectives to sell from that we might back the development of Participatory Economics.

Please don't go chasing the car accidents, we need a new way of driving an economy, a particpatory way, that systemically accounts for everyone's point of view and needs.
