who is a professional?
Overtime, i heard people being address as a professional. Most times, recruiters emphasizes the degree of professionalism during hiring. That's why, the word 'experience' is overly emphasize. Experts assume that professionals are in short supply. The public believe that failure of government policies and regulations is cause by dearth of professionals. Investors think that failure of public liability companies/organization is cause by half baked management in place. In our system perhaps, both public and private organizations requires a tested professionals to guide through. In the final analysis, we all need professionals to get our interest properly done. As global economy continues to be threatened by shortage of professional men and women, improved and fulfilled life of the public is affected. Life span and objectives of individuals and organizations is short changed because of lack of professional knowledge in the industry to confront daily hazard of the trade. However, professional knowledge and experience is needed in every endeavor of life.
Then, who is a professional? A professional is a person who follows a particular occupation as means of livelihood or for gain/benefit. He/she is a person who is an expert at his/her work. A person who stand a knowledgeable authority, whose opinion command valuable respect in a particular occupation. Every profession have people who have distinguished themselves either through research, invention, discovery, publishing, opinion statement and or, accomplishment.
There are levels of professionalism, which varies according to experience, accomplishment and knowledge in the industry.The level is classified into three: Emerging, Young and Experienced professionals.Folks that are in colleges,universities and or,in the process of learning a particular trade or occupation,including graduates without or two years of occupational experience are regarded as emerging professionals. People who have seven occupational/trade years experience are regarded as young professionals.Some young professionals could still be found in colleges,universities and other vocational learning institutions. Experts who have minimum of seven years occupational experience,that have distinguished themselves through,research,discovery,invention,innovation,publishing and opinion statement are regarded as experienced professionals.Who you are,emerging,young or experienced professional?
