Thank You For All The Amazing Socks...But Wait, there's more!

2 days ago, Kate and I met down at RainCity's Housing to deliver all the wonderful socks to them amazing people at the shelter to be distributed to the homeless and anyone who needs them. While we did not get as many socks as last year, it was still 4 boxes full!

So we would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who made their way down to Vancity Head Office to drop off the socks!

But wait...it ain't over...

Even though we have delivered the socks, something else is still going on.

Recently, a good friend of mine had pressed me to participate in UBC's Dollar Project - The Briefing. The Briefing is an unique event that invites 8 speakers to present a social cause to 500 delegates whom will each donate a dollar to the cause they thing deserves the most attention. The winner of the presentation will win all $500 dollars to be put towards their cause.

And a couple of days ago, I found out that I was one of the 8 finalists chosen out of 26 applicants to present my cause - to use the money to get more socks for the homeless.

This is where I can use some help.  If I do win the $500 for the cause, I like to extend the leverage of the $500 by getting a company/individuals to donate another $500 or more towards buying new socks for the homeles.

So if you know anyone or work for a company that will be interested to pledge some money or even $500 worth of socks towards this initiative, please contact me as soon as possible.

Winter is still going on and the rains are not letting up. Let's work together to help keep the feet of the homeless dry and comfy. Let's help reduce their hardship so that they can worry less about walking with infected feet and get on with improving their lives.
