MAY 22 FORUM: How Can We Save BC's Mountain Caribou?

Just a few decades ago, caribou were found across North America. Today many herds are struggling for survival.
In BC's inland temperate rainforest, the world's only mountain caribou now number just 1,900 – down from 2,400 a decade ago.
Right now, the BC government is considering whether or not to protect six million hectares of mountain caribou habitat, including some of BC's most important old growth forests.
BC's mountain caribou are our canary in the coal mine. We depend upon the inland rainforest for clean air and water, carbon storage, recreational opportunities, and sustainable economies.
