Stop 'trying' and start doing
I booked my flight to central america today. I'm going for 4 months for a surf adventure and to get outside the box to facilitate thinking outside the box.
I gave my notice to my job. While I appreciated the opportunity to work in marine conservation and to contribute to this worthy cause, I am excited to get out of the 9-5 lifestyle. I learned a lot from my work, but I don't want to be in front of a computer as much as I have been! I feel inspired to do something great that I, and the amazing people in my life can learn from, grow from, be inspired by. I'm not sure what it is, but I know that's it's gonna be f*$#ng cool! Dream big! None of us should be slaves to the system if we don't want to be.
I don't know where/what the next chapter will be, but I trust that it will be full of growth, adventure, opportunity and beautiful people.
So...changing everything. yup. First thing was quiting my job. Done. Second was getting the plane ticket. Done. Third - stop saying "I know I need to be doing more yoga and stretching" and do it! That's my current endeavor. But I'm not gonna try to do it. I AM doing it.

Getting into a routine with
Getting into a routine with my yoga practice is critical! I met with Amari who gives private yoga and pilates instruction to begin working on setting up my own personalized practice. She's really amazing. If anyone is interested in private instruction, contact Amari - amariferrari@gmail.com. She grew up in a yoga center, brought up by 2 yogis and has been practising since she was a very little girl. She's wonderful).
I need to get into shape for surfing. I also need to get a yoga/stretching practice ready for while I'm in Central America
My change: I will do a daily yoga practice

Not to be the rain on
Not to be the rain on your parade, but what, exactly have you changed? Well, you've given up your job. You've gone on holiday.
Geez, even my parents wouldn't brag about changing their lives by going on holidays. Except they always had jobs to come back to when the holiday ended.
Must be nice growing up in Kitsilano with a Trust Fund is all I can say. Hope you stretch more than your legs on your holiday. How about stretching your mind?

As someone who also recently
As someone who also recently left a job and also booked a trip away (her first outside of BC in ten years), I'd suggest Feel the Flow's changes count just as much as any you are making. They require more courage, bravery and mind-stretching that you might think - particularly when you don't have a trust fund and all you have to count on is faith and a decent resume for your next paycheque.
Risk is different for everyone, and changes are what you make of them.

When I re-read my comments,
When I re-read my comments, they seemed dismissive, which was not my intention. My point is just to think about what someone really changes when they quit their job and take a holiday. No matter how long the holiday, the time will come when its time to come home, roll up the sleeves and go at it again. And what will have changed? Attitude? Perspective? Experience? Maybe all three, and there's lots of value in each. I just think that there is deeper and more substantive change that's possible. Changes in consumption, in thinking, in values. Changes in the way someone prioritizes things in their life.

I too stopped trying and
I too stopped trying and started doing. I met Les Brown a great motivational speaker who told me to jump and my wings will appear on the way down. He also said that once the student is ready the teacher will appear. Well, I put things in place first (that's doing) then I resigned. I am now an author and motivational speaker, full time, since then and love every moment of it. I believe in loving what I do or go do what I love.
