Step One in progress - Advisory Committee

Making progress with pulling together an advisory committee for the vaccine informed consent campaign (I sure need a catchier name for this campaign... ideas?)

So far three people have agreed to support me in the project!

Ted Kuntz is the first. I met him years ago when I was trying to get a broadcaster for my documentary film idea about vaccines. Ted is the author of a book called, Peace Begins With Me, and the father of a child who was seriously disabled by a vaccine reaction. Like me, he believes that parents need full information before immunizing, he's not anti-vaccine.

Richard Bridge is the next. He's a charities lawyer I've worked with on many projects over the years. Although the legal area of informed consent is outside of his expertise, he has an interest in this area and was quick to recognize that what takes place in a doctor's office when childhood shots are being given is not, legally speaking, informed consent.

Kim Fink-Jensen is the third, albeit with the caveat that completing her Masters degree and time with her two kids have priority. She is trained in medical rehabilitation and is a UBC Master’s candidate specializing in Critical Medical Anthropology. She wrote a kick-ass paper about the marketing of the HPV vaccine when that new vaccine was launched a couple years ago.

I'm not sure why, but five advisors feels like the right number. A public health nurse would be nice to bring on board. And then someone who is either connected to funding sources or would donate the website development!
