Join or Support Team Vancity to Advance Solutions to Global Poverty
Sunday, May 30 at Lumberman’s Arch in Stanley Park, a team of Vancity representatives will be again joining more than 40,000 others across the country in the World Partnership Walk, supporting international development efforts through Aga Khan Foundation Canada. Every dollar raised by this organization (100%) goes directly to supporting non-denominational development work overseas, and is leveraged by Canadian government funding for the work of community based organizations in some of the most impoverished areas of the world.
Paralleling Vancity’s vision of Redefining Wealth in our own communities, the resources raised through the Walk will invest in microcredit initiatives, support health, education and community development work and helps contribute toward long term sustainability and social justice on an international scale.

Our team was also particularly proud of last year’s organizers for including a commitment to reducing the total environmental footprint from the Walk, including using fully recyclable and compostable paper products, dishes, cups, and cutlery. No plastic table cloths or aprons were used, and all items are reused wherever possible. Individual water bottles were not used, as many were encouraged to bring reusable bottles at water stations.
