Reducing clutter
Anything that I do not use or need is clutter. Good things that are genuinely reusable I donate to such organizations as Salvation Army. But what about things that I do not think anyone wants such as damaged or stained clothing or furniture. Is there really any use for old pillows, rags etc. So far I throw them out rather than burden worthwhile agencies like the Salvation Army.
Are there any suggestions

I have been looking for a way to get rid of stained and soiled clothes. After quite a bit of searching I was told that goodwill and some other places will take these clothes and send them out to made into rags. They do prefer if you separate them and label the bag as "for rags" Towels and sheets can become rags or be donated to an animal shelter

I would say that if your items are of no use to you (damaged or unusable), they will be of no use to others, (most charities sell the items they collect for fundraising purposes), but depending on what the items are (TVs, cameras, etc.) some organizations will repair them. It will require you to do a bit of research to find out what those organizations are - ask your friends, do some online searches (with Vancouver in the query to narrow it down). You could also offer to give the stuff away for free on Craigslist Vancouver.
I just bought a new bed and bedframe, and while the store would take the box spring and mattress and donate (in good condition) to charity, they wouldn't take the basic metal bedframe. So, I randomly called one of those junk removal agencies to see if they could suggest an alternative to the landfill, and as it happens, one of the junk guys had a friend who was looking for a bedframe just like that. there's lots of opportunity for random happy coincidences like that if you put the word out. I'm throwing in the boxspring, the new mattress company will donate the old mattress, two people benefit from clean and functioning furniture, and zero waste has been achieved!
