living without a car
My goal, if to be carfree. I have a car, I love my car. But I want to add to my world buy cutting down on carbon emissions and bike everywhere I need to go. This will not be easy as I live rurally and it's an hour ride to work each way. There are no corner stores, restruants ect. so I will need to be strong. I am starting by getting use to riding long distances, and using my car also, and weaning myself off. By fall I will not renew my insurance???? So here goes... I wrote it down, I shared my secert dream.... The thrill begins.

Hey congrats. I did that about 10 years ago and after a couple years of adjustment, figured out how to adapt (mind you, I live downtown, so it's way less of a challenge than you face). I feel really good about my decision and don't miss the parking tickets, either!

holy smokes! that is
holy smokes! that is amazing. i really admire you. i live a 15 minute bikeride from work and close to lots of shops and services in my area. and i can't imagine undertaking what you are planning. i am truly inspired. i have been riding my bike to work each day since the beginning of may and i am really enjoying it so i am moving in that direction too.. and when i feel like i just cant make it up the hill.. i will think of you and your hour commute.
