Run a Marathon
Debbie Travis

Debbie Travis, home decorator extraordinaire, is joining the Joints in Motion team for the trek to Machu Picchu. How great is that? The Arthritis Society will get lots of good press from it and the trekkers can get decorating tips! Okay, maybe it doesn't work that way, but if I was on a 4 day hike with her, you know I'd bring photos of my whole house with me - just in case.

from the Arthritis Society:

Debbie Travis has decorated her way into the hearts and homes of Canadians from Vancouver to St. John’s. With the same passion she puts into helping people design great spaces, and educating young workers about career options, Debbie will be striving to improve the lives of the nearly 4.5 million Canadians with arthritis. This August, Debbie will put down her paint brush to carry her backpack in support of The Arthritis Society’s Joints In Motion trek to Machu Picchu, Peru. She will do so in honour of eight-year-old Callah Alexander.

“I had no idea that babies and young children are living with arthritis,” says Debbie Travis. “I hope my trek in Machu Picchu will encourage other Canadians to pursue their fitness and philanthropic goals with the Joints In Motion Training Team in support of improving the lives of families and Canadians living with arthritis.”

Our organization is proud to have Debbie Travis act as a spokesperson for the Joints In Motion Training Team. She’ll be adding her voice and passion to the 3800 members of the Joints In Motion Training Team that have, since the program’s inception in 1999, raised more than $20 million towards the fight against arthritis.
