Plastic free deodorant
I read an article in the August 4th Vancouver Sun newspaper about plastics, mentioning Enviro Woman, which made me curious. What really caught my eye was her experience of "near absence of plastic-free deodorants". Tsk Tsk. Walk into the Whole Foods store in Penticton, where I live, and see many choices. I'm sure that if you visit alternative stores insted of the big mostly US-based chain stores, you will find similar results in the Lower Mainland of BC. Two examples: Crystal Roll-On Body Deodorant and Lafe's Hemp Oil Deodorant (also roll-on). My husband uses the rock crystal version of Crystal. Crystal Roll-On is a bit wet and needs extra time to dry, but Lafe's works very well. I am using up Crystal and switching. I had been using Tom's of Maine but other chemical ingredients in it than plastics made me switch. Have fun finding YOUR favorite plastic free deodorant. While you are at it, check out the enviro friendly clothes washing products, and buy from the bulk food bins (take your own reusable plastic bags, use the same one again). And of course, carry your cloth grocery bags (I've had mine since 1989). Also, unlike the account setup info that is rather disrespectful of people who live other than in the Lower mainland of BC - I'm from somehwere else but not just for now, I like where I am living!
