We're in it together!
Well, we'll be in it together! Does this mean kicking the other person's bum when one of us doesn't want to brave the rain? Perhaps! Does it mean helping each other stay on top of bike maintenance? Yes! But even better, I think this also means occasionally looking for and sharing inspirational material about biking - books, films, poems, events, and people. We went to the Velo City exhibit at the Museum of Vancouver yesterday, and the stories there were incredibly inspiring! If a man can bike from Patagonia to the Arctic, we can bike in a bit of rain from our home to downtown, or to dance rehearsal, or out for dinner and Bandidas!
Our plan was to ride the Central Valley Greenway tomorrow. Already this bit of rain tonight is making me think twice about that plan. Do I really want to ride 24 km in a downpour? Nope! But if I have to run an errand or go somewhere for any reason, I'll bike, yes I will! We'll do it together and hang our wet bike gear side by side!
It's so much easier sticking to plans like this when there is lots of positive energy and support from other folks!
