Looking back on a year of changes

A lot happened in 2007. I had a bit of an epiphany in the late spring, in which I realized that the key to happiness is inside each of us, and nobody but ourselves can truly make us happy. I found endorphins in my running shoes. I found endurance and stamina on the dikes, biking around Pitt Meadows. I found strength, flexibility and bliss on the Yoga mat. I found happiness in living a life without soda. Nobody forced me to lace up my running shoes. Nobody forced me to strap on my bike helmet. Nobody forced me to roll out the Yoga mat.

For the scientists: Since May 2007, I've lost 40 pounds. 3.5 inches off my waist. 2 inches off my chest. An inch off my neck. And, although it's fantastic to be able to look back and see measurable progress, I really could care less about the pounds and the inches. Truth is, I feel great. I know that I've got a bit further to go on this journey, and it's not going to be easy.

Can you believe that it took me over a month to realize that there was a response to my last post? :)
