Inspiration & Education - My new years resolution pure and simple.

I've made many a new year's resolutions and I'll be honest, never kept a single one, well actually I did keep one a few years ago when I quit smoking but that's another story. This year I hope to repeat the feat and keep another.

But this year's new resolution isn't about me. It's about what I can do to change others lives in a positive way, mainly kids. I have been inspired in the past by teachers and other parents who regardless of their contribution have influenced others in a positive way. People that made a difference in our lives whether we know it yet or not.

It saddens me when I hear about kids who go without food or kids that lack proper nutrition. Sure you hear about it over seas but it happens here as well,  just on a different scale. It happens to older kids who because of no fault of their own are left to their own devices and need to look after themselves because they don't have the support of their parents or know how.

Why does it bother me? Because I once was in that boat, a child with little guidance left to my own devices. I may have been better off then some and it may not have been as extreme as many kids today have it.  If I hadn't had good supportive friends with caring parents,  I may have ended up very different from the way I am now.

I want to make a difference like those friends, adults or parents did for me. Find a way to communicate skills and life lessons that may alter a childs future into a positive light. It will be about personal reflection, things that helped me. Now that I am older,  I appreciate the little things that at the time seemed so small, but have made a huge difference in the person I am today. It will be about education. Idea's to inspire, explore and discover. My blog will focus on this and hopefully my progess, it may change during the year but my focus will remain the same. Educate kids, pure and simple.
