My next door neigbhour moved into the unit next to mine in July.  All I knew about them were that they had a daughter and a son.  The male household spent a lot of time working on his yard.

Last night, after dinner, I had a chance to see the male household pulling up dead plants and readying his garden for the fall.  I asked him how he was doing and how he liked the neighbourhood so far.  He greeted me and replied that he likes this area of the town a lot.  He continued that his family came from Montreal and had been renting in Burnaby until he found his current unit.

To give you some context, here is what my garden looked like in July.

He asked how long I have been in my unit.  I answered that I have been here for several years.  We continued to chat about our families.  It was great He has always been curious why I seem to be at home most of the time.  I informed him that I have graduated couple of years ago, I am currently running an online blog/ web site, and am planning to find a job in Calgary (or at least in Alberta).

We chatted for about 15 minutes.  At the end of our conversation, he invited me to come over any time for tea.  I offered to take a look of his computer, especially his difficulty of getting online.

It was a great interaction.
