QueerHistoryProject.com is an interactive website where anyone can add
their stories about Vancouver’s queer history. We’ve gathered a
collection of stories, photos and videos to kickstart the site.

So please come visit! Tell your friends, blog about it, spread the word!

And most of all, please add your stories—scanned photos, taped
interviews, original articles about gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans
history in Vancouver, or links to content that already exists somewhere
on the web (and don’t just submit the link—tell us what it means to
you!).

Maybe you don’t have your own content to upload to the site (yet). No
worries—why not start by adding your comments on the pieces that are up
there now? Maybe you were there too… maybe you remember the event
differently… maybe you have a totally different take on things. Tell us
about it!

This is an opportunity to showcase what was funny, brave, caring,
painful, motivating, subversive, routine, ignored, gorgeous and
arousing. What happened and what was it like?

We also need volunteers to help build our community’s capacity to
document history. Do you have experience doing oral histories or
interviews? Sound/video production or editing skills? Do you have a
love for people and history and the patience to work with someone to
help document their stories? Do you know of grants that we can apply
for, or organizations that would be helpful to partner with? Please get
in touch.
