Vital Signs Vancouver Launch and Community Dialogues

Written by Anita at Vancity

Wednesday, October 6

Vital Signs is an annual community check-up conducted by a number of community foundations across Canada that measures the vitality of our cities, identifies significant trends, and gathers public perceptions in at least ten areas critical to quality of life.

Vancouver Foundation is well-suited to gather this type of information because of the nonpartisan multi-faceted role they play within Metro Vancouver communities, working with a variety of not-for profit and community based organizations.  The overarching theme of the Metro Vancouver Vital Signs report for 2010 is “Vitality” – a theme that will extend to the launch in Vancouver and subsequent Community Dialogue series that will be held in 5 other regions:  North Shore, Tri City and Areas, Central, Richmond/Delta and South of the Fraser.  The launch and the community dialogues will engage the public and key stakeholders in a conversation around the report findings.

Launch event:    Wednesday, October 6,  8pm – 9:30pm
Roundhouse Community Centre Theatre-Approximately 200 attending
5 Community Dialogue Series:  To be held in 5 Metro Vancouver Regions in Fall/ Winter 2010.  Details to follow.
