This is such a cool thing to do.
Many years ago, I and my neigbhour planted a guerilla garden on the corner of 4th and Alma which flourished for several years. It was amazing how everyone in the neighbourhood responded. Some sent thank you cards, or posted comments on the fence, or took pictures....and many defended the garden vehmently from those dick-heads who thought it was their god-given right to hop the fence and pick the flowers because it appeared to be an abandoned piece of land. It really became a community garden that many people felt they had a vested interest in (even though there were just a few of us doing the weeding and the planting).
I hope people in your community appreciate your efforts as much as the Kits residents did.
